Owner and founder of Demko Knives, Andrew Demko, first started forging blades in 1988 when he was in seventh grade. He immediately realised it was his passion and began forging knives almost immediately. Like many blacksmiths, Andrew began his journey in a garage, forging the shape of a knife with a hammer and sharpening it on a small but handy grinder. While pursuing his dream, Andrew's passion for engineering and attention to detail was noticed by Cold Steel. At Cold Steel, Andrew has developed some of the most innovative and powerful locking mechanisms in the industry. The legendary Tri-Ad Lock, Scorpion Lock and most recently the one-handed operator's dream - the Shark-Lock. Since selling Cold Steel, Andrew has employed his brother John Demko at Demko Knives. John brings experience in custom manufacturing, sales and fabrication. Both John and Mike have knife designs to their credit that are manufactured and distributed throughout the knife industry.
