Andrew Demko - owner and founder of Demko Knives, first started forging chisels in 1988, when he was in seventh grade. He immediately realized it was his passion and began forging knives almost immediately. Like many blacksmiths, Andrew began his journey in the garage, honing blade shapes and sharpening them on a small grinder. Andrew's passion for engineering and attention to detail was noticed by the well-known Cold Steel company. At Cold Steel, Andrew developed some of the most innovative and powerful locking mechanisms in the industry. The legendary Tri-Ad Lock, Scorpion Lock, and most recently the one-handed operator's dream - the Shark-Lock.
AUS-10A - manufactured at Takefu Special Steel Corporation' s steel mills based in Fukui, Japan , a high-carbon stainless steel rich in vanadium 0.27% (V), molybdenum 0.31% (Mo) and chromium 14.5% (Cr). The balanced combination of high carbon content of 1.05% (C) and chromium 14.50% (Cr) makes it a stainless steel with excellent corrosion resistance, high hardness (hardened between 58-61 HRC) and the ability to hold an edge for a long time. As a result, the knife can be easily sharpened, providing a razor-sharp blade. Used in the production of premium knives, characterized by a good balance between hardness, corrosion resistance and ease of sharpening.
Blade - Drop Point type , finished with an elegant satin finish. The belly extends the length of the cutting edge in relation to the length of the slender blade converging towards the needle-sharp tip of the knife. The thickness of the blade provides high strength while the high, flat grind gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. To improve piercing capabilities, an unsharpened false blade is brought out at the top . On the back of the upper jimping wedge, a notched thumb rest.
Handle grips - grips made of thermoplastic material insensitive to weather conditions, resistant to chemicals.
