Skull Cross Helmet Ring Ø21 (16251-21) is an expressive signet ring combining vanitas symbolism with the iconography of medieval knightly orders. The main form of the ring is reminiscent of a crusader's battle helmet, from which emerges an anatomically stylized skull - a motif that reminds us of transience, death, but also of the strength of spirit and steadfastness of the warrior. In the central part is placed a black Maltese cross, performing a heraldic function and giving the whole a mystical overtone.
The use of black enamel in the recesses enhances the contrast with the silvery surface, creating an effect of drama and depth.
